Xiaomi Mi 5 Flagship Smartphone

Xiaomi Mi 5 Flagship Smartphone -At Xiaomi's launch event on Tuesday, we saw the launch of the Redmi Note 3 and Mi Pad 2, but not a word was revealed about the long-anticipated Mi 5 flagship smartphone. However, upon questioning, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun revealed that the handset "is worth the wait" and is "very, very good".

Jun however, did not reveal when the company plans to launch the Mi 5 but he did reveal that Xiaomi is revamping its development cycle, as per a report by Sina Tech, a Chinese website (via Phonearena). This would result in a decrease of the time gap between the launch of two smartphones.

As per the latest leaks and rumours, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is rumoured to sport an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, a processor family already seen on the Mi Note Pro. It is also rumoured to use the Snapdragon 820 SoC. However, a separate report had recently claimed that due to a delay in Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipsets, Xiaomi may opt for MediaTek deca-core Helio X20 processor. Some of the purported innards of the Mi 5 include 4GB of RAM; Adreno 530 GPU; a 5.3-inch QHD (1440x2560) pixels resolution display with pixel density of 554ppi; 16GB or 64GB inbuilt storage variants with no option for expandable storage; a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a 3030mAh battery.

As per a report from earlier this month, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5 will launch at a December 3 event. Considering that the Xiaomi Mi 4 was unveiled back in July last year; the company certainly seems to have slowed slow with the production of its next-generation flagship smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A8-Although Samsung has used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC in global variants of the Galaxy A8, the Indian version uses the Korean company's own octa-core Exynos 5430 SoC. The four primary cores operate at 1.8GHz, while the four secondary cores operate at 1.3GHz. There is an integrated Mali T628 GPU. Apart from that, the rest of the device's specifications are the same across global variants. There's 32GB of internal storage (expandable by up to 128GB using a microSD card), 2GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera, and a 3,050mAh battery.

The A8 is a dual-SIM device with both SIM slots supporting 4G SIM cards. However, 4G can only be used on one SIM card at a time, with the other dropping to 3G. Furthermore, the second slot is a hybrid slot, which means it doubles up as the microSD slot. You essentially have to choose between dual-SIM connectivity and storage expansion, which as we've said before, is not a choice that users should have to make, especially at this price level.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Review-the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has finally been launched at Samsung's official unveiling in New York. For us here in the UK (and our European readers too) there is good news and there is bad news, and sadly the bad news kinda trumps all the good stuff.

The good news is that the Galaxy Note 5 lives up to all the hype and more, and listed below are five of its most interesting features. However, the bad news is that, at time of launch, Samsung currently has no plans to introduce the stylus-equipped Galaxy Note 5 phablet to the UK and European markets, instead, according to statements from Samsung representatives, the firm is focusing the Note 5 on the North American and Asian markets.

For whatever reason Samsung will not be retailing the Galaxy Note 5 in the UK. This is extremely odd, considering how popular previous models have been. Nevertheless, you can still pick one up from retailers, just not networks. Granted, this could change. But for now if you want a high-end Samsung you’re basically stuck with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 EDGE, as well as the Galaxy S6 EDGE+.
